The kids worked really hard this week. We have done a lot of reading and writing!
Here is a glimpse at some of the stuff completed this week! Social Studies: We are looking at colonists jobs and how important they were for the colonies. We are going to begin comparing and contrasting them to jobs now-a-days. Science: The students did a "station" final assessment. They had a matching quiz to match up electricity and magnetism terms to the correct examples and had hands-on stations including building a circuit and finding out what conducts electricity and what does not. Religion: We finished our Saint research projects, including topic sentences and illustrations. They are hanging on the bulletin board outside of the classroom. Math: We also finished our final Topic 2 assessment! (Like I said, they've been working hard!) Measurement and data and conversions they are beginning to understand! Those word problems get tricky but they are really putting effort into their work and using tape diagrams. ELA: We working on close reading this week, and learned about new inventions that changed history. We started Literature circles, which are similar to book clubs but the kids read with each other. They really enjoyed socializing with each other with the inventions!
